Just wanted to remind everyone that if you become a fan of Nabisco coiokies on facebook you can print a $1 coupon for Fig Newtons which are on sale this week at CVS for $1 so they are FREE!

Also, CVS now has a new coupon printer in the store so scan your card before you shop to see what other bargains you may be lucky enough to get. I got $5 off $40 and $2 off any picture frame or photo album $3.99 or more-just in time for Mothers Day.

Rite Aid now has a card you can sign up for. Its called the wellness+ program. Once you register the card you can print a $5 off $25 coupon and lots of others too. Remember- these can be combined with manufacturers coupons for double savings.

I have been chosen as a possible product tester for ebeanstalk.com. You should check them out if you are a Mom or are looking for a baby/child gift. Their website is broken down into boy/girl categories and also toys by age. There is a great clearance section (with an extra 30% off this weekend!!! They have developmental toys for kids so they are learning while playing-most don't even know it! Being an Anatomy teacher, I personally love the "Skeletons in your Closet" game and will be purchasing it for my girls. They have panels of moms and child experts that chose the items for their website. Be sure to check it out.
If chosen I will be trying out a new pacifier and a new toy for them. I will keep you informed as to my findings.
Happy Bargain Hunting!

Walgreens has a heck of a deal going on this week!
I had to get diapers for Sophia (I use Huggies diapers because they dont leak and also because they have a points/reward program for free kids toys and their packages have "Box Tops" which I send in to the kids' schools and deodorant for my husband (he only uses Degree for Men)and the average full price amount for these two items is around $15. I personally think this is too much money to spend on a product that goes in my husbands armpits and another that gets full of poop. So, being the thrifty mom that I am, I decide to do some bargain hunting.
This is a run-down of how I spent my money and got lots of free stuff:

1) Stayfree pantiliners are on sale for $2.99 and there is a $1 coupon on their website. Walgreens gives you back $2.99 in RR (Register Rewards), so FREE and I actually made $1.
2) Tone body wash is $2.99 with $2 back in RR so after the $1 I made from the Stayfree pads this is now FREE
3) Pluckers toothpicks are $2 with $2 RR =FREE
4) Personal groomer is on sale for $4.99 with $4.99 RR = FREE.
5) Skintimate sheve gel is $2.99 with $2.99 RR =FREE

So I paid $15 and got $15 RR back so I then used them to get the two things I needed--diapers and deodorant.
5) Mens Degree deodorant with coupon from the flyer is $2.49 + $1.25 coupon from coupons.com last week = $1.24
6) Womens Degree deodorant $2.49 with coupon from flyer + $1 coupon from coupons.com last week = $1.49
7) Huggies diapers on sale for $8.99 + $3 coupon from coupons.com = $5.99
8) Johsons baby body wash (I bought 2) is BOGO 1/2 off + 2 $1 coupons from their website= $4.75
so the total was $12 which I had $1 in RR so I paid $0 and still have a $3 RR left!!!!!!!

So, back to my original scenario of not wanting to spend $15 for diapers and deodorant--instead I paid $12 and got:
*diapers
*2 deodorant
*2 baby wash
*toothpicks
*personal groomer
*body wash and
*maxipads
with and overage of $3---
This is the type of thing that makes me happy!
A few minutes on the computer and you can do it too.
I always cut all coupons and print any I find, even if I dont think I will use them, most are good for atleast a month and you never know what will go on sale next week.
Happy coupon hunting!!

OK Todays post is about one of my favorite things---mypoints.com! You sign up and get points for whatever you buy online, you also get points for answering surveys, printing(and using) coupons, and using their search toolbar. Emails come in-an average of 5 or so a day-and all you have to do is open them, and click on a link for 5 points--no purchase is required. Points add up very fast, even if you never buy a thing. The best part is you trade in points for gift cards. This is not one of those places where it's stores you've never heard of or places you don't go. They have cards for places like Target, Walmart, movies, Chilis, gas cards, Olive Garden, etc. You get points for shopping online at all these palces too--Walmart, Target, Toys R Us, there are hundreds! It's so worth checking out. All you have to do is check your email. If you get friends to sign up you get a percentage of their points too!! It couldn't be easier!

Ok so here's my first blog...
I think among most of my circle I would say I'm the thriftiest, and it is my duty as a woman to help the others out. I am a stay-at-home mom of three girls--Emma 8, Bella 4, and Sophia 1 year old. I find so many things for us to do and stuff for us to get that we stay busy on little money. I'm not ashamed to use coupons, and ask for free stuff, many companies are happy to give stuff away because they look at it as free advertisement too. I will post all of my findings and help you to stay "in the know."

Today is Earth Day and I have found many things to do at our local mall.

#1) Pottery Barn Kids has a kids book club every Tuesday from 11:00-11:30 am and today was a special Thursday Earth Day story time. They gave away free seed packets after the Earth Day story.
#2) Origins gave away free full size face wash--choice of two--if you bring in your old face product. They also have free 25 minute mini-facials--includes consultation, exfoilation, and mask, specially for your skin type. If you made a purchase they would have planted a tree in your name as well.
#3) The Disney Store gave away free baseball caps if you bring in 6 bottles or cans to recycle.
#4)Build-a-Bear Workshop gave away free crowns for King/Queen of the Day promotion.
#5) Aveda had 3 free large hair care samples and for a $5 donation to a water saving organization you get 3 more! Aveda also has free "rituals" including anti-stress aromatherapy, head/neck/shoulder massage, and hand massages, they give free samples at the end and serve you tea while you are there--no purchase necessary.

All this for free, I only spent $5 for the extra travel sized items, and it was for a charity, so, on Earth Day, does that really count?? Besides, things like that are good learning experiences for my girls anyway.
